Mourners robbed at Ed Gallimore’s house

<span style="font-weight: bold">BAXIDE...DAT IS ALLL MI CAN SEH</span>

GUNMEN this afternoon held up and robbed mourners at the home of Ed Gallimore a day after he was shot outside an ATM in New Kingston.

The Observer learnt that friends of the former tourism industry executive were at his house offering condolences to his mother when one of the gunmen, pretending to be a friend, walked in, hugged Gallimore’s mother, then pulled a gun and demanded money.


When it became clear to them that there was no money for them to get, they took away people’s cellphones, the Observer learnt.

Gallimore died in hospital this morning after yesterday’s attack which occurred at approximately 3:30 pm.

Police report that Gallimore had withdrawn an undetermined sum of cash from the machine when he was pounced upon by a gunman upon leaving the booth. He was shot and the gunman escaped on a motorcycle.

The common thing is to break in and rob the deceased family's home while they are attending the funeral (the thieves knowing that no one will be home) but this is a new low.

Insult to injury...dis nuh right at all. Word is that the health care system played a role in Ed Gallimore death. He was sent from one hospital to another and needed a blood transfusion. Volunteers were ready to go but the blood center was not open. So sad.

Perhaps I'm naive, hignorant or both.


But, why do they have to shoot him? Why not just pull the gun and tell him to hand over the money?


And then you have people talking about how 'articulate' and 'intelligent' future ministerial candidates are.
Will their articulation and intelligence improve the situation?
